A Year In Review |
~ 2005 ~ |
| It's almost 2006. Since this has
been a year of transition and changes for the Morrissey family, it
seems like a wonderful opportunity to take a look back over 2005.
|
We remember Mary Gallagher, Margaret Harling, Jack Gurskis, and Mary
Wallace who passed away this year
The year begins with a snowstorm in Central Massachusetts and some
sledding (right) at Quinsigamond Community College.
February brought competitions: Gymnastics and Super Bowl XXXIX
A recurrent theme for the year is snow...that first picture could be
from January, but alas it's not. Easter brought together family and
a visit from the Easter Bunny. Hard to beat those Easter egg hunts!
April vacation to Vermont - our last vacation together as just us "four,"
if you include Pokey Reese. In Burlington, we found a very dog friendly
environment. We took the long way home through as many little college
towns as we could find and through Queeche gorge.
May brought a visit to the hospital to welcome another friend into
the world - Calleigh - while it also brought first communions and a
baby shower for the Morrisseys.
The school year winds down with an end of the year gymnastics demonstration.
July brought us a new Morrissey.
We checked out a sand castle competition at Revere Beach, and of course
held the annual mid-summer soiree. In the creative side dish contest,
Maureen's Broccoli Mauve was dethroned as champion by...a salad? Must've
been one heck of a salad. Only about 70 some odd people arrived to hang
out at the Morrissey compound.
Our first vacation as just us "five" - again, including Pokey
Reese. We rented a rustic cabin on a pond in Wakefield, NH for a week.
A wonderful, relaxing time to get to know our new family member and
to settle into our new lives together.
September brought a little binky-envy to Pokey, and just after the
start of the school year, we checked out (you'll never believe this)
a Garlic Festival in Orange, MA. The girl and I came in second place
in a Garlic and Egg Toss and won a free ice cream and a face paint.
First place was a free ice cream, a face paint, and not having to wear
a broken egg.
October saw the new Morrissey baptized. In the first picture, the new
Godparents hold the boy as he is welcomed into the church. The proud
family gathers around the boy. Of course, 2005 was his first Halloween
so he got dressed as Pooh bear in a pumpkin costume...
November saw the leaves falling off the trees and the children playing
in them - the boy imitating his sister. Thanksgiving day saw...you guessed
it, snow. Until I put this page together, I never realized how much
snow falls out here. Good grief!
December is bringing the boy his first Christmas...and his first Christmas
embarrassment. Can you imagine his reaction years from now when we're
showing his little girlfriends that Santa outfit? So, what WAS in that
huge box anyway? Christmas is a time to have the family together and
we were fortunate to have the Morrissey cousins together.
